Week In The Life - Recap

I've mentioned before that this was my first Week In The Life, and I am definitely hooked! This project has help me to realized how blessed I am:) I mean I knew I was blessed before I started this, but the number of people that I come into contact on a daily basis. The amount of "stuff" I do during the day.

I forgot how much I love documenting my story through the lens. So I'm making a promise to myself to continue this adventure, and much much more!

Week In The Life-Friday!

After a long testing week, and students acting like it's the week before summer break:( I am very thankful it's Friday!!!
I am so proud of myself...I woke up at 6 am and hit the gym with my mom. We only had time to work out for about 45 minutes, but boy it felt good. Usually I don't get to work out until after work, but since I knew I would be attending happy hour there's no way I could've worked out last night, lol. Absolutely no way:)

ready to hit the gym

 Happy Hour

Layla, the birthday girl

I really enjoyed my first Week In The Life, and I'll be posting pictures as soon as I can find my USB cord for my camera:( This week I fell in love again with my camera. This experience helped me appreciate my life, and all the people who I come into contact with on a daily basis. I am so blessed!

What did you learn from Week In The Life?

New House!

Great news...we got a house!

SOLD!

So excited about this new chapter in our lives, and already have a trip planned to Ikea and home depot this weekend. No major work needs to be done, but of course there are little projects here and there that we want to take care of this summer. We definitely want to paint a couple rooms immediately, but I'm really excited about starting my garden. I'll post pictures soon.

Just thinking about these summer projects gets me all happy inside:) What kind of projects are you planning on doing this summer?

"Different" Bridesmaids Dresses

I would consider myself a pretty laid back bride-to-be. It's important for me to have our wedding party and guests feel as comfortable as possible. And when it comes to dresses there are only a few things that I require:
1. That the dress be some shade of
grey.
2. Dress should be short
3. No clear shoes!

I want my girl to be able to wear the dresses they buy for years and years to come without breaking the bank. I love the way the dresses look in this picture. Same color family, but different style dresses...PERFECTION!

I don't want things to look uniform, so hopefully if all goes well each girl will have a different shade of grey along with different style dresses.

Do you like the look of each bridesmaid having the same style/color dresses, or do you prefer a more uniform look?

DIY Burlap Wedding Banner

My love and I had our engagement session last weekend. I thought it would be easy, but honestly it made me uncomfortable. My fiance' was such a natural, and I was the complete opposite. Who would've thunk it:)

We should get the images back in a week or so, but for the session I made a wedding banner that I found on Offbeat Bride that turned out fabulous if I say so myself:)

I found a stencil type(Carton), online and drew it on the burlap freehand with a permeant marker, and then painted it with white paint. But instead of sewing the burlap, I used the stitching iron on adhesive that worked great. So happy with the project, even though my love didn't enjoy holding the banner in front of spectators, lol. And the best part...the project only cost me $10.

I'll post pictures of us holding the banner soon.

Engaged!

Happy Tax day!

So I've been gone for quite a while, but I'm back and so excited about the future. I got engaged Thanksgiving weekend November 26th to be exact:) And we're planning a wedding. I originally wanted to document the process but things got crazy real fast. Now that things have died down a bit and we only have a few months left I think it would be nice to show what's going on, and ask followers for a little bit of advice.

What also helped me decide to come back to life.wedge is a week in the life with Ali Edwards that I can't wait to start. I recently found my camera, a Cannon EOS Digital Rebel and all my lenses, so I'm ready to knock it out!

Elise Blaha has some fantastic tips for taking pictures, and if you just want to be put in a good mood check her out.

Tomorrow I'll post a couple of wedding updates, so stayed tuned.
